The dates for the first Asian Martial Arts Games in Thailand have been fixed after weeks of discussions between the parties involved. Originally scheduled to take place from April 25-May 3, the Martial Arts Games will now be held from Saturday, August 1, to Sunday, August 9.

The 54th OCA Executive Board meeting and 28th General Assembly will now take place during the first Asian Youth Games in Singapore from June 29 to July 7. The Executive Board will meet on June 30 and the General Assembly on July 1.

The first Asian Martial Arts Games, featuring nine sports, were postponed due to civil unrest in the Thai capital Bangkok with the political rally of the red shirts.

The new dates were set for June 6-14, but clashed with other international sporting events so were delayed again.

The Games will be held in Bangkok and Suphan Buri under the slogan "The Games of Spirit -- The Land of Smiles."
